Well … now there’s only one Corey, anyway. I read this morning that Corey Haim is dead of a drug overdose. I never really “get” celebrity, so had no idea he (and the other Corey) were a big thing, or were in lots of movies … even after I did (a bit) I had trouble figuring out which Corey was which – or even who were the Coreys 
But he was in Lost Boys, so he was cool 
Recently I’ve seen a video clip of Haim, very stoned and really not on to it at all. Consequently reading that he died of a drug overdose didn’t surprise me. Problematic drug use is something I see an awful lot of, involving many and varied drugs – alcohol being the most prevalent. These substances can cause major problems: they affect mood negatively, some can produce psychotic symptoms. They can bring on major psychiatric illnesses or make them worse; cannabis has pretty convincingly been shown even to increase the rate of schizophrenia.
There’s huge financial cost. It involves criminal contact (though decriminalisation could reduce that). It leads to isolation and alienation from friends and family …
… And sometimes death.
So don’t do drugs. Drugs are bad, mmkay?
