I tried to hair-metal it up slightly – hence the bandana the clean rhythm guitar with heaps of open high E and B strings over all the chords, and the dirty rhythm under the second prechorus and chorus. My solo – at 19 seconds/4 bars short – is the teensiest I’ve played in a long time. It was actually rather fun. I couldn’t just noodle away as I might usually, so I ended up putting in some open-voiced triad things a la Eric Johnson, and some string-skipping silliness a la Paul Gilbert/Shawn Lane (probably more senor Pablo).

It was fun getting together a full song – and great having Cara sing – so you don’t have to put up with my vox Also check out Owen’s mega-cool solo
