Human Goodness

I’ve had my belief in human decency reinforced today. I was contacted through this website by someone who had bought a media player on craigslist. The seller had stated it was from a lost and found bin. When it arrived the buyer found it full of family and business photos – including some hotel check-in slips with a name on them.

He then set about trying to find that person – who happens to be a member of the Andy Timmons band online forum, as do I. Registration on that forum can sadly take a while to come through, so as he’s unable to contact the owner that way he went through the memberlist and clicked through to my site.

This guy bought something quite legitimately, but on finding these pictures has gone to the trouble of hunting down the previous owner, and asked me to pass on his details so that if the original owner wants it back (the ‘lost and found bin’ story seems somewhat shaky now; the seller isn’t getting back to him about further details …) he’ll send it to him.

This makes me smile. A lot.

Duane, you’re a top bloke :D

    +1 to that.

Once did the same thing with someone's pay packet. Some 300 dollars – back you know when they used to use cash :)
