If a person persists, especially a person misusing a position of power, in the indulgence of willful ignorance and logical fallacies, I say attack the person.

Well written and obviously heartfelt. I have just received the latest issue of The Philosopher Magazine, which has a Sceptic's Column. This latest one focusses on just this matter, with reference to Singh who has been successfully sued for describing chiropractic (NOT the practitioners, but the practice) as bogus. What is most disturbing about that in reference to the above excellent post, is that there is clearly a patch protection aspect of the action of the chiropractors in suing Singh, yet they remain part of the anti "medical Establishment" group and therefore by definition altruistic.
I saw someone yesterday who had seen a "holistic" GP, and said it was the first time he had seen a doctor who was trying to sell him a treatment
As to the proportion of bad apples amongst doctors, why should it be less or more than in the general population? A question for another column?
