This Jan. 29 panorama of much of the East Coast, photographed by one of the Expedition 30 crew members aboard the International Space Station, provides a look generally northeastward: Philadelphia-New York City-Boston corridor (bottom-center); western Lake Ontario shoreline with Toronto (left edge); Montreal (near center). Born of Hope – a Lord of the Rings prequel … fanfic gets awesome

A Lord of the Rings prequel? Yes please…. For only £25,000? SRSLY?

I found this most impressive, and also very enjoyable: an extremely dedicated English actress named Kate Madison scraped together £25,000 from her own savings and an appeal on YouTube, convinced cast and crew to give their time, and came up with a very cool movie.
